LaGuardia High School Explains Why Nicki Minaj Was Denied Access Of Speaking To Its Students!

IFWT_Nicki_Minaj_La_Guardia_HS

I know there are some students that are feeling really bummed-out about Nicki Minaj not showing up to their school. Last week, officials for LaGuardia High School, located in New York City denied the, “Pills N’ Potions” artist entry into their school.

After questioned why she was denied access, Nicki responded with, “…I guess I’m not good enough.” Apparently, Nicki knew exactly why. The school replied with a letter to the parents of the students who attended the high school.

Find out more down bottom.

LaGuardia explained that Ms. Minaj wanted to film her inspirational visit, but a film crew would be against the policies of the NYC Department of Education.

In a letter released by LaGuardia School:

“The fact is that Ms. Minaj was told by the NYC Department of Education that she would not be allowed to enter the school with a television crew,” the letter states. “The DOE has policies in place to protect the privacy and security of all its students. I’m sure we all appreciate the strict enforcement of these policies with regard to the safety of our children.”

Can’t break the rules, even for Nicki Minaj.

Lol nice excuse. They’ve filmed within NYC DOE schools before. All you need is parental permission. She did it back at her elementary school. LGA is just a prestigious high school and the new principal doesn’t want her there. Period.

  2. Trina on September 15, 2014 at 3:38 pm

Unless proven otherwise..I agree with Joshua’s statement above.
As a parent I normally receive information for an event and if my kids schools are filming, they send a letter home requesting parental consent.

As a teacher, a female and a woman I completely understand that Nicki is an entertainer but I do not think she should be allowed to speak to high school students. I think she is not good for the morale of young girls/women. These girls are already emulating her over sexualized persona. It’s unhealthy. I’m sure the principal could’ve gotten the permissions slips but we do realize that she wanted to come in the first full week of classes?! Some times celebrities need to join us in reality. There is already chaos in the building don’t need anyone adding to it.

  4. tamika on September 16, 2014 at 6:02 am

What could she give? Advice on how to fuck enough men to get some shine? How to degrade yr self on tv? How to prostheticly mid yr body for attention? Id sue the shit outta my kids school if they allowed her to indoctrinate my baby girl. Screw that whore

  5. tamika on September 16, 2014 at 6:03 am

Nobody should need an excuse not to have a whore around kids

  6. Just my comment on September 16, 2014 at 7:09 am

I enjoy her music and listen to some… However as a parent I would not agree with her speaking at a high school… Pills n Potion…. Even if it’s a metaphor some kids still don’t get that in the song…we have a higher rate now where kids think it’s ok to pop pills.. We need positive remodels that are out there that do more for their Community… I just think with our kids we have to want more for them… Not to become the next singer rapper or dancer, there are other careers out there.. We ten to look for fast money instead of working hard.. If that’s your dream than yes go for it… Don’t let anyone stop your dream go for it.. Just have a back up plan..

    • sadie on September 16, 2014 at 8:19 am

@lady nikki minaj is a good person I highly doubt that she would give a speech about sex to the high school students maybe she wanted to help the students feel better about themselves and give them advice about how to do that

  7. Irene on September 16, 2014 at 8:12 am

The way I feel about it… Instead of stating “Guess Im not good enough” , it should have been… “I understand how can I help the school”…. donate for new uniforms, new book and so forth… Be a inspiration to the children, send positive messages to them not pills and potions or showing these young ladies our future that its not ok to be a slut… that beauty comes with inside you and you do not need to change your look to be beautiful.

    • Maikeru on September 17, 2014 at 2:54 am

LaG doesn’t wear uniforms. The whole issue could have been better handled by all involved.

    • Megelyn on September 17, 2014 at 3:13 pm

What exactly is a slut in your eyes?? Cause you don’t know who Nicki really is or what she does, you just know what you see… You can’t just assume she is having sex with many ppl and quite frankly Even if she was it’s none of your business or anybody else’s for that matter. No one has the right to call her or anyone else a slut or a whore especially when ya’ll don’t Even have the facts to back your accusations up. Lastly ppl are saying that she is not a good role model, but what about the kids that write to her thanking her for continuously making a difference in their lives and being there for them when times are rough??? She may have flaws, but no one is perfect. I’m tired of ppl thinking that they can just judge her or others when they are no better themselves, cause what you’re letting everyone know with your posts, is that it’s okay to judge, name call, and put others down… When it’s not, ya’ll should be ashamed… Mind ya business and worry about ya selves not Nicki!!!

  8. MICHELE on September 16, 2014 at 8:17 am

I applaud the principal for making the right move. Sorry Nicki but you are no role model for young women!!! They are there to move forward and get an education, no need to learn how to open their legs at such a young age!

    • sha on September 16, 2014 at 8:57 am

Fuck u 2 michele!!!!! She rich!!!!! And you is a broke bitch so hate on and suck a six pack of sick dick u dusty ass excuse of a human being!!!!!!!!!

  10. Beverly on September 16, 2014 at 9:00 am

I think nicki would’ve been perfect to make a speech to the kids at the high school.Wheter ppl like it or not the children listen to her music.

  11. Gucci Got Damnit on September 16, 2014 at 9:05 am

Nicki fan need to just let it go, and so does she. get over yourself. is not that deep lls..

  12. kiki on September 16, 2014 at 9:30 am

The principal made the right choice. If Nicki had something inspirational to say it doesn’t matter if it’s the beginning of classes or the end. It will be said. So why cause such an uproar in the first week? ….publicly.

  13. Christian on September 16, 2014 at 9:36 am

@Sha Why you hating? Just because people express their views about Nicki Minaj, you gotta act ghetto. I bet you won’t say what you say to their faces. You’re just a misguided child who needs to be put in mental institution.

  14. rea on September 16, 2014 at 10:00 am

for those defending Nicki.. you’re a prime example of why she should not be allowed to speak to young and easily influenced kids. Nicki degrades herself so anything said about her she has called to herself, as a parent I’d completely fine with the schools decision. You have people on this post commenting that they would’ve been okay, that those against it are haters but half of you can’t spell still use “ppl” and “yuh” in place of real words use curse words and call people fat and haters to show what how your misguided and wrong your perspectives are… It’s sad and I hope most of you don’t have kids cause tomorrows society is built on our kids today and if their being raised by people who spell and speak like half of you on this post I feel bad for the path society is taking. Kudos to the school and the board of Ed. for this one!

    • bmac on September 17, 2014 at 5:56 pm

    • Luther on September 16, 2014 at 11:19 am

Everyone who is speaking negativity about Nicki and how she is a bad influence and calling her names I would like to know what sets ypu apart from her talking down about a person does not a saint it makes you. Also all these celebrities have issues some more than others but you seem to pick on her. one’s attire does not make them any less perfect or unworthy if you are going to talk ill about someone please make sure your life is in order and that you hold everyone to the same standards. For one to preach they must first make sure they are pure I love how you pick and choose who is better than others when knowing what you do or have done in the past but think that you yourself are better than everyone else.

  16. saqi on September 16, 2014 at 10:49 am

Ok @Sha your comments are not helping to defend nicki minaj instead you are proving the points of everyone against her visiting the school. Now in my opinion nicki minaj’s artistry is not a great example for young women however her Life story is quite inspirational. She was an immigrant in a new country with a broken and damaged home who looked for peace within art (theatre and music) she was raised in southside Jamaica queens and she built her career over a span of 7 years aiming to be a great rapper (and taught herself the skill) she represents struggle, determination, and independence although her music and persona says otherwise. So I am definitely on the fence with this one. Im a parent first.

  19. Dana on September 16, 2014 at 11:27 pm

Nicki writes lyrics about sex and drugs…. She is an adult artist. I listen to her music and enjoy it but children should not. Yes young people know who she is and listen to her music too but her music cannot be played at school… so who in their right mind would find it okay for her to speak at a school.. if a porn star wanted to come speak at her old school because she is successful it would obviously be denied. Same thing goes for an entertainer that uses sex and adult content in her music. Common sense. Some parents would be outraged. Better for the school to be safe than sorry. Nicki should get over it and so should all her fans. If you want to see her buy a ticket. If you want to listen to her buy her CD. If your a parent who thinks she can give your child advice about life youtube some of her interviews on talk shows. And if your one of the morons on here commenting about other peoples thoughts on the subject get a life and a dictionary… you sound like a fool.

  20. latoria on September 17, 2014 at 11:12 am

The real question i have for all the people who says she just an i quote” shake her ass and suck dick. Thanks but no thanks. She can keep her slutty ass in Hollywood!”. My question is were you there when she was sucking dick or being a slut. second of all i feel she would have plenty of advise to give the young women of this generation. If you like it or not she is an inspiration for some of these girls and her giving them advice on how she has become so successful or how she has a clothing line or how she has a perfume,or even how not only is she an artist but also a successful business women and that’s what you haters fail to realize.

  21. dannie on September 17, 2014 at 12:50 pm

I agree with the principal decision. Nicki minaj is no different from Lil Kim back in my time. It’s starts at home on what we as parents allow our children to see and hear. Even if you can’t stop them give them the knowledge so they understand. My daughter knows her limits when it comes to her.

  22. Lil Kim on September 17, 2014 at 10:24 pm

Chile…. The principal knew what he was doing. Tf she gon inspire kids to do? Pop their pu**y and let their tits out? The real shade is she probably only wanted to come to the school for some good PR in promotion for her album. The school knew what was up as soon as cameras were mentioned.

  23. Alvin on September 17, 2014 at 10:58 pm

@Sha u really need some kind of help…..
    1. Nicki minaj is a wak ass rapper
    2. She definitely aint no one dat these young HS girls need to be looking up to rappin about “anacondas” n what not!!!

  24. BeSmart on September 18, 2014 at 9:51 am

Nicki makes good songs. She is charismatic and probably a joy to be around… but this is a school we are talking about. I can’t say if Nicki Minaj is a “whore”, I don’t know her and neither does the rest of us. But even if she was to go on stage and give an inspirational speech about dreams and goals, how did she achieve hers? Will our daughters think to be successful we have to alter our boobs and butts? Get fake teeth and pay $500 for fake hair just to be comfortable with themselves? That we have to endorse sexual things to be great? As a nicki fan, it would be fun, but I wouldn’t want my daughter looking up to her, period.
