(Video) Updates & Summary of State of The Union Address

Tuned-Up and Tuned-In: The nation was live for the Head of State’s big top of the year speech. The Live Stream, Updates & Summary of State of The Union Address went down with the POTUS looking relaxed, confident and energizing his words more than we’ve seen. With a lot of disappointment over only brief mentions of #BlackLivesMatter issues (Twitter-verse ready in waiting for the ‘State of the Black Union’ #SOBU), MUCH was said over what was not said. Is it Obama ‘for the win’ or nah???

From the Live Stream, Updates & Summary of State of The Union Address by the POTUS, ya boy was talking that talk and getting EVERYONE on their feet a few times. But many say his shout outs to ‘stand united with people who have suffered from terrorism’ and all the country’s gains pale in comparison to the non-mentions of violence and unemployment still plaguing our communities:

“I have no more campaigns to run–(‘yea aight,’ snarks, haters, mumbling from the audience)–I know because I won both of them. My only agenda is to do what I think is best for America…It’s 2015, it’s time. Let’s stay ahead of the curve. We should lay the rules. We should level the playing field. We can achieve it, together. Everybody matters.”

Still the POTUS put people on notice and simultaneously cracked some stone faces with true #facts, proving he hasn’t just been playing golf all these years: More people are insured than ever, we’ve created more jobs since the 90’s, our position as a technology and energy leader is growing, the housing and construction market is growing, and our wars overseas are ending. “Tonight, I want to focus less on the checklist at stake, and more the values ahead.”

High school graduation rates are at an all time high. More Americans are graduating college than ever before. The typical family should save $750 a year at the pump due to lower gas prices. Consumer watchdogs will be looking out for the best interest of the people’s credit and loans. “Every step we were told our goals were misguided and too vast. Instead we’ve seen the fastest economic growth in a decade…this is good news people.”

“Let’s do more to restore the link between hard work and growing opportunity for every American…To the members of Congress, if you think you can work full time and support a family on less than $15,000 a year…try it!”

He lightened up talk of climate change being scientifically real, closing Guantanamo Bay, flexing how much better off we are for being persistent and steadfast instead of being hot headed with foreign countries, and requesting Congress’ support in going after ISIS, by keeping it fresh: Shouting out the youth and how he wants young Americans to lead the innovations of the world. Telling the Astronaut Captain Scott Kelly who’s going to Mars for one year on behalf of the USA–“Good luck Cap…make sure to Instagram it.” (LOL)…

In the Summary of President Obama’s State of The Union Address: Obama got ready to take the stage in front of a number of elected officials, judges, public representatives, big money lobbyists, haters, supporters, blessing blockers, a few special guests, and his own family. Just another day for the Commander in Chief delivering the high pressure speech, hopefully reassuring “the people” during these tough times and giving the critics something they can feel.

As far as the topics, the Summary of President Obama’s State of The Union Address was reported to highlight the now major threat of ISIS, terror attacks and breaches in cyber-security. The Republican party had already lined up their rebuttal speech to include a call to action from the president in the form of, “something must be done.” The “he’s all rhetoric” “destroying America” and “he’s not aggressive enough” approach was expected.

Special guests sitting with FLOTUS Michelle Obama (decked out and stuntin’ in Michael Kors) echoed the ‘rainbow melting pot of the future’ Obama has so clearly represented in his presidency. Guests included a male Hispanic student from New York City’s own Boogie Down Bronx, a black female teacher from California, a white male CEO from Rhode Island, a white male police captain from California, a few ‘letter writers’ from the Mid-West, a female Asian digital services professional and a female climate change researcher from Florida.

The POTUS themed “middle class economics” and the struggles of families extra heavy. Lowering the cost of living and child care, paid sick leave, increasing minimum wage, equal pay for women (which is still getting blocked in Congress), more jobs–especially for veterans, benefits to working couples and a shout out to his free community college plan announced earlier this month.
