_Black Women Are Ranked The Most Educated In America In Both Race & Gender

The National Center of Education Statistics has reported by the US Census state that black women have the highest numbers for enrollment in college. Read more on the story and check out the video after the jump!

The video below explains the 9.7% mark that states that black women are #1. In the video Janks Morton questions people’s reactions to the data and says that this is history in the making. Enrolled in college doesn’t mean “educated” nor does it mean they actually “graduated” all is mean is that they “enrolled”

    Who writes these pointless articles…

    • Mariah on August 14, 2015 at 1:06 am

Stop being a HATERRRR! It may not necessarily mean more “educated” or that we “graduated” If you wanna be “technical” but the fact that we have the highest number for being enrolled in college says we are the ones above any other that are more determined to make something of ourselves for continuing our education. Hence we are more educated because we’re smart enough to know the value of an education. By hater

      • Storm on October 30, 2015 at 9:18 am

        It’s bye hater. Not by.

    • Kay on August 31, 2015 at 3:08 am

Right! It doesn’t count the ones that get the loan just so they can take what’s left and get lipo and butt injections , which is what a lot of them actually do

      • Hazel on September 2, 2015 at 10:46 am

This comment is tasteless and irrelevant. The article is talking about college enrollment. Noone is enrolling in college to get Lipo.

    • Tiffany on October 30, 2015 at 11:09 am

I saw this and I just had to reply. The fact that you took your time to write a “pointless response” shows how uneducated you are. To even enroll in college you must have some type of intellect. And I mean anyone can write a response and say something pointless just like you Gen.. Pointless!

    • Rodravia on June 5, 2016 at 12:14 am

Silence the hate and focus on your education!

    • sashadidit on July 4, 2016 at 2:01 pm

I agree… a lot of these articles lack the articulation to support the title of the article, however, that’s where your education and experience comes into play. If you want to verify, dispute or debate an issue, research it. It took me less that 5 minutes to verify that the assertion made by the title is TRUE.

    • Gorgeousandeducated on April 18, 2017 at 12:22 pm

Haters gonna hate but let that had said a white women was number one you all would had dug no further for information lol that’s why I don’t like white people smh like all y’all the same think your better than somebody else but your not your white skin get burned by the sun lol now what king or queen would wanna be walking around skin burned us blacks are the closest to god we rule the earth and our skin complexion goes so good with nature and Mother Earth we don’t need a tan we’re pleasantly colored amen to that ????

    To the first comment: Gen

I’m African American, and I graduated college with a Bachelor of Science Degree. In addition, I am in graduate school in pursuit of a doctoral degree.

The article isn’t pointless. It’s monumental.

  3. John Guillory on August 29, 2015 at 4:03 pm

Outstanding! This should be on Headline News! We have to promote ourselves to get some kind of recognition!

  4. She Codes on September 7, 2015 at 5:18 pm

Black female engineer here. I’ve also read that black women are also the #1 purchasers of books. My concern is that we might be saddled with so much student loan debt that our educations become a mixed blessing. My hope is for real reform in student loan financing… it’s becoming a new form of sharecropping.

  5. Blacksista on September 29, 2015 at 6:46 am

Black woman with 3 degrees yet I wasn’t happy with the work it afforded me, so I went back to school for Physical therapy assistant. Pays a lot better than I could have imagine but the student loans are still crushing my purse.

  6. Lisa D on October 31, 2015 at 8:33 pm

I am truly glad I found this article. These past few weeks, I had my first experience with “white privilege”. One of my colleagues who is white and an administrative assistance with as Bachelors degree asked a new staff member her impression of me only after the new staff had been in the office two days. The administrative was not aware that I have known this employee for the past 15 years. The new employee did not inform the administrative assistant of such facts. She told her she admired me and was impressed with me being in my PhD program. The administrative assistant responded by saying “she makes it known”. I am proud to be making history. After 12 foster homes and other life experiences; I am taking my bow. To all my sisters keep grinding, keep shining, and do not allow anyone to dim your light—- Lisa R Darling.

Why are both black women not doing better in the real life I see? This is also saying black men are the second most educated after Asian men,why are our communities so run down, why don’t we have more black professionals, why don’t we own more businesses, why do we have so much single parent homes, such high stds and other health problems? I thought education was supposed to help you make better choices in life.I don’t it has helped us much if these stats are true.I believe there is something we are missing from these stats.Just hearing the way the average black woman talks and the decisions she makes be lies these stats.

    • April on May 4, 2016 at 9:59 pm

I am a mother who is encouraging my teen daughter to be well mannered, educated woman of GOD… Who GPA is 3.8 I am also always encouraging her to be her own woman, to depend on noone but the ALMIGHTY GOD. Pay it forward always. Most white male are a product of what we call “OLD MONEY”, they are taught to surround themselves with others with “OLD MONEY”. im teaching my child to make your own money and remember to help those who in need. Bring someone else up with you. I also educate and enlighten her on her pass… So that all those ppl who were killed, were raped, beaten, and hung , would not be in vain.

  8. nate on November 27, 2015 at 3:57 pm

The wealthiest and most successful Americans are white and male. Therefore, they are the most educated.

I am a black man and as long as I see black women on WIC And Food Stamps then I will disregard these fictional stats that are nothing more than words to comfort insecure single black women. The enrollment of black women can not possibly be higher than white men since the population is significantly smaller. Going by percentages is not the way to go.

    • Nik on November 28, 2015 at 8:34 pm

……yet whites are the largest percentage on food stamps and “wic”…, as it is statistically impossible for any other race to be, as you stated. Maybe you need to rethink the stereotypes being shoved down our throats. I’m sure you aren’t even black judging by your response. I’m an educated black woman with my own business. Most of my black friends..the same. It’s not a competition, it is a statistic. Why you felt the need to try and berate women, black women is beyond me. I’m not sure you’re black, but if you are that would be an indication of deep self hatred and misogyny. Hope you become educated and get your life on track

    • LaTonya on January 8, 2016 at 12:13 pm

To be wealthy and successful doesn’t mean that you are educated, as there are different ways to come into wealth and success. For example, one may come into such status through inheritance.

Your comment seems petty. Instead of being proud of black women making a name for themselves, other than as being a ghetto hood rat on welfare, you want to throw eggs because the article said black women were more educated instead of black men.

Our status now is all by the grace of God. All credit is due to Him. God bless.

  9. Eileen on November 30, 2015 at 12:39 pm

Black women having the highest college enrollment does not necessarily mean having the highest level of intellect. Recently, affirmative action has made it possible for more black women to enroll into college while, at the same time, blocking minorities such as asians from going to college. Because of racist legislation such as affirmative action, is it really that surprising that black women have a higher percentage of enrollment within their population today? I am not trying to berate black women, i am simply trying to put this “study” into perspective before people react emotionally and simply see anyone who critiques this study to be a racist.

  10. Congratulations on December 19, 2015 at 5:51 am

Someone else here said they hope we as black women don’t get saddled with too much debt and paying off the student loans becomes the new “sharecropping” Well, I think that’s one of the reasons we need to go into STEM, and STAY there. That’s where the money is, That’s where the jobs are. I’m in STEM and the BWs I know…same. I don’t feel worried at all about paying off my student loans because I really majored in something that pays all too well. Congratulations again, precious black women! I’m so proud!

  11. BW did the work on December 28, 2015 at 1:21 pm

A part of the article boasted a comment from “Janks” that said “This statistic is a testament that black women AND black men are BOTH holding up the lamp” & that “BOTH value education”. Excuse me but I beg to differ.

You see, BLACK MEN do NOT get to bask in the glory of black women’s hard work and sacrifice. They chose not to go to school & furthermore made fun of and BASHED black women’s efforts & degrees.

They don’t get to now bask in the goodness like they did anything to earn anything. I’m sorry to have to talk this way but black men have been very troublesome towards black women while she tried to reach her goals. Black men can take their OWN butts to school and do their OWN work. So annoying!

  12. Adok. on February 10, 2016 at 3:40 am

It’s a wonderful achievement by black sisters. I think some of you here are twisting the headlines, because I saw the most educated women in USA not the most college enrollment so you guys should get it straight . Nevertheless, they keep doing it right. Am really proud of you all and most importantly some of them have kids and family that they take care of, and still go to college.

  13. mrman0351 on April 14, 2016 at 1:42 pm

While y’all are so busy running black men down for our lack of education versus yours, I, an uneducated black man, paid off my black ex wife’s student loan debt that she couldn’t. Go figure

  14. claire on April 18, 2016 at 1:01 pm

    How stupid is this article?
IF this article is actually based off of factual and ACTUAL statistics (which i highly doubt. It most likely came from a black college which in itself is absurdly racist) then america needs to do away with affirmative action. I doubt that if school s had to stop meeting minority quotas then most college statistics would DRASTICALLY change.

  15. Jeb on May 7, 2016 at 8:09 pm

Hello. White women are still the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action. Yes, they should do away with it… And white men will exclude their women just like they used to. Unfortunately, the poster above does not seem to understand that she is considered a minority as well.

  16. Olivia on August 26, 2016 at 8:52 am
