   I was never really a fan of his when he played in the NBA, but good for him for doing this. He’s right. Every year you hear about someone being killed or stabbed over the new Jordan’s being released. On top of that many young kids or their parents can’t afford $200. It’s good to see an athlete that actually cares about people, instead of looking at them as a dollar sign.

   It’s a damn shame people kill themselves over a pair of shoes and one of the name Michael Jordan all the shoe company why don’t people take responsibility for their own actions I agree Michael Jordan shoes are expensive however no one forces you to buy them michael Jordan is an entrepreneur and he is doing making the dollar people need to take responsibility for their sales and their actions what they should be talking about is why this American company is making shoes in a foreign land selling them to the American people at a 300% markup rate why can’t we get this American company back on American soil for American people to be employed

    Great job Marbury you should sale those shoes for 15 dollars so that families that can’t afford to buy Jordan’s can still have a shoe with a nba player’s name on it o wait your not in the league anymore I don’t ever hear anyone calling out people for buying other things the can’t afford but sense Jordan and LeBron have a popular shoe they should lower the price so everyone can afford it well go tell Lexus bmw Mercedes to sale their cars for the same price as a Saturn or a focus so everyone afford a forien people please stop the nonsense I wore off brand shoes before I had messed up cars before when my situation changed my choices changed Jordan’s are not a necessity so stop the nonsense big up to Mike Jordan love u sir keep doing your thing

    That’s very commendable, but I disagree the hood and others allow themselves to be robbed when it comes to shoes(something that will be worn out in a few weeks). It’s all about priorities.

    The problem is that Marbury is right, it’s about economics vs. America’s Materialistic Value System. Unfortunately our youth have been suckered into placing self value with the value of $200 show that cost $15 to make in Asia. It is not a new phenomena. When I was kid, Converse and Pro-Keds were the star brands and if you bought PF Flyers you were wearing ‘SKIPS OR SKIPEES” and your shoe game reflected your hood status. Nothing’s changed and it’s ridiculous.

    How do you compete with the marketing power of NIKE, MIUSIC AND HIP HOP STARS and The NBA shoving that crap down the immature minds of kids everywhere. Unless you have strong minded parents and strong willed kids you will have a problem. He will not be able to outspend Nike, Adidas, Reebok in marketing dollars at that price point. It will take a partnership with the NBA, a major college team and a championship player and continuous amount of time to make that change in the mindset and money talks first and loudest.
