Billboard Reveals Their “10 Greatest Rappers Of All Time” List – Do You Agree?

IFWT_Billboard_Greatest_Rapper

When it comes to a list, there will always be some agreements and some disagreements; this time is no different. In what will be a great debate, Billboard has compiled their annual 10 Greatest Rappers of All Time list, and well, there are a few replaceable artists, in my opinion; and Snoop Dogg’s opinion.

Check it out after the jump.

Billboard’s 10 Greatest Rappers Of All Time:

10. Lil Wayne
9. Kendrick Lamar
8. Ghostface Killah
7. Lauryn Hill
6. Andre 3000
5. Nas
4. Rakim
3. Eminem
2. Jay Z
1. Notoious B.I.G.

Billboard places Biggie at the bottom for the following reason:

Death at a young age can often elevate a rapper from modern-day star to bona fide legend. But Notorious B.I.G. already attained the latter status early on his career. His storytelling rhymes mined straight from his experiences in the Brooklyn streets materialized on 1994’s insta-classic Ready to Die, a wild mosaic of vividly visual rhymes delivered with the expertise of a linguistic master. By the time his group album with Junior M.A.F.I.A. dropped the following year, and his ambitious sophomore double-disc album Life After Death bowed just six days after his passing in March 1997, he’d already earned his title as the greatest rapper of all time. Unlike everyone else on this list, Biggie never dropped a single bad song, or a single errant bar.

According to Snoop:

This is so disrespectful. !! Whoever did this list need a swift kick in the Ass. No. Tupac. Come on cuz ?. Jus my opinion

#IJS: Just my opinion as well, Snoop. Tupac is my number one, therefore, I’m not satisfied with the list. It’s an overall thing for me. It’s about lyrics; character; style; storytelling; etc. Tupac does it for me.

Check the gallery for more.

The list is fucked up. Fuck Jayz, who the fuck is he. Tupac and snoop dog are next to biggie in terms of good rap music. Whoever compile the list does not really listen to rap lyrics, he’s just bias and jealous of Snoop and Pac

    #FuckBillboard #FuckForbes #FuckGrammys

You automatically forfeit a right to voice an opinion on a GOAT list if Pac is not top 10. No way Kendrick is GOAT status yet. Wayne had ghostwriters, so he’s eliminated too.

  8. Lloyd Forbes on November 18, 2015 at 8:38 am

It’s obvious the people who made this list. I come from the beginning of this rap shit. I’m from the Bronx where this started. You are saying the greatest. Where is KRS and Kool Moe Dee. In my opinion greatest don’t necessary mean the best. LL has dropped a hit in almost every era of rap. He is not on the list. My opinion the 5 best is
    10. Drake
    9. Scarface
    8. Big Daddy Kane
    7. Kool Moe Dee
    6. Eminem
    5. Nas
    4. Tupac
    3. Buggy
    2. KRS
    1. Rakim

  9. Lloyd Forbes on November 18, 2015 at 8:39 am

That should have whoever wrote the list is young.

If u had to ask a real lyrist this question “who are your top ten rappers?” I assume he/she will tell you that it’s difficult ’cause different rappers bring different dishes on the table.Rappers, artists and lyricists are similar to sportsmen/women,as far as craft and creativity is included…do u why I say this?…because players in a team have different positions and it’s hard to compare a striker and a defender because they have different tasks….if look At rappers, most of ’em came from different backgrounds, most of ’em have been through different experiences and that affected their lyrics and music both negatively and positively….so everyone should know that they’ll never be the best coz they’re all different both lyrically and musically….but I respect everyone’s opinion….i also listed my top ten rappers/lyricists?

    Where Big L @
    Keith Murray
    KRS

  15. Marcel_O2_Jnr on November 19, 2015 at 4:56 pm

This list is unacceptable, even by any sane person, whoever did that list, is definitely a hater of Tupac…. no doubt.. Pac is the G.O.A.T, Even Biggie would put Pac at number 1

  16. Petty Kash on November 21, 2015 at 5:24 pm

I think if you ask 10 people this question you would get 10 different answers with 3 similar. Apparently they complied this list based on certain mass appeal & other factors that certain names may not have achieved globally as they did locally. I can think of a few names to add to the ones I don’t understand like everyone. PAC can out rap a few on that list yes and I’m not even a Pac fan like that. So hard to see why he didnt make the list. Anyhow though I’m am a Native Staten Islander & I’m glad they recognized Ghostface for his hard work story telling and wordplay from his many albums (sometimes 2 a year) which cover different topics & identities on each. And just the same anyone think he don’t belong is madness.

In that order I agree 2Pac#1
