   This is so messed up. They are a disgrace to the badge! Protect and serve, not prevent and stand by. I would have been shot by the cops because I would have went into beast mode on them, even as bystander. There is no reason why this man was denied the chance to save his son, even if his life would have been at risk. 3rd degree burns for the life of your child… worth it! Who are they to decide to deny this man from saving his child! The negligence of safety for that child by the officers, is a direct result to his unfortunate death. The child could have stood a better chance of surviving if someone had reached him sooner. I think the cops were too chicken sit to step up to the plate and didn’t want to be out shined. And the fact they arrested him is even more rediculous! To think that this man was prevented from possibly saving his son and then has to grieve behind bars just blows my mind. I could only imagine looking into my wife’s watering sad eyes and thinking how I failed her as a protector of the family all because of a couple of punk ass cowards abused their power of authority. This will permently scar the family and be the cause of any PTSD suffered. To top it off, they are defended by city officials that WE place in position to keep OUR best interests in mind. These cops are responsible for the loss of this precious life and deserve, at the least, jail time and termination from the force. This lost life could have discovered the cure to cancer, implicated a renewable source of energy, been a highly qualified surgeon that was responsible for saving thousands of lives, been a highly decorated miltary personal defended our country from a horrible terrorist attack, or even been the president that unites a world that strives to better our way of life as a species or even just fixed our financial situation in our country. There are a million possibilities to what this life could have done for mankind, but we will never know. The one thing that is a definite, we were robbed of that future because of the actions of these sorry excuse for cops. I served overseas in the Marines but am currently living the life of a civilian. Now I’m no saint but, when danger is present, whether or not I’m equipped for it, I run towards it. There was a time that I drove past a house that looked abandoned that had thick smoke rolling out behind the boarded window, I could tell that no one else had noticed it yet. I immediately thought of the possibilty of life inside, I kicked the front door in and ran upstairs thinking that maybe someone might be unconscious. Luckily whoever was squatting there was already gone. I only bring this up because I am a nobody and I did something. To think these cops did nothing but tase the father that was desperately trying to save his son, they should be held accountable and suffer the consequences. To be a cop is not a job, it’s a way of life, always on duty. It would be no different if doctor was having dinner and someone started chocking, if they did nothing to save them, they could have their license revoked. It’s a code that comes wit the title, just like a Marine. If nothing happens to these individuals, I will loose all faith in what this country stands for! Period! It is up to the people of the town to demand action!
